Steve Campkin of Slam Cartel
Steve is the powerhouse behind Slam Cartel, providing the driving force and a solid foundation.
Steve started drumming at age 17 in Ashford Thrash covers band Eschatology, with Marc on guitar and vocals. Eschatology soon became Bind, which soon became a bind, so Steve quit to concentrate on playing guitar for Folkestone Goth Metal outfit Einsteifen, writing many of their songs and recording the unreleased album Casting the Circle.
After ten years away from the kit Steve was invited to try out for Slam Cartel.
In Courtfield Studios where Eschatology cut their thrash teeth, and with Marc on Bass, getting back behind the kit was like coming back home.
Steve uses Dream cymbals, Vic Firth sticks and Ludwig drums and pedals.
